DBpedia Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is the main decision-making body of the DBpedia Association and oversees the association and its work, as its ultimate corporate authority. You can find the member of the DBpedia Board on the contact page. We provide the public minutes of the DBpedia Board meetings here. The next DBpedia Board meetings will take place as follows:

Current Board Members
Prof. Dr. Sören Auer, Founding Member. Sören heads the Enterprise Information Systems group at the computer science department at University of Bonn. He is also member of the leadership council of Fraunhofer-Insitute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS) and head of the Fraunhofer IAIS department EIS. Prior to joining University of Bonn and Fraunhofer IAIS in 2013, Sören founded AKSW research group at University of Leipzig and worked at TU Chemnitz as well as University of Pennsylvania.
Prof. Dr. Chris Bizer, Founding Member. Chair of Information Systems V: Web-based Systems, Director of the Institute of Computer Science and Business Informatics
Kingsley Idehen, Founding Member. Kingsley is Founder, President, and CEO of OpenLink Software, a privately held company he started in 1992. OpenLink Software is an industry acclaimed technology innovator and provider across the following realms: Enterprise Data Management, Access, Integration, and Collaboration.
Dimitris Kontokostas, Association Founding Member. Dimitris is a Knowledge Engineer and Semantic Web researcher at University of Leipzig and the DBpedia Association. He is close to hold a Ph.D in Semantic Web from the University of Leipzig and is the head of technology development of DBpedia since 2014. His (research) interests focus around knowledge representation and knowledge management of large-scale knowledge graphs and data quality. Dimitris is a co-editor of SHACL, the upcoming W3C recommendation for data validation and the creator of RDFUnit, a popular tool and unit-testing framework for RDF validation.
Prof. Dr. Jens Lehmann, InfAI Ombudsman. Jens is a researcher at the University of Leipzig where he is leading the AKSW group with 40 researchers. He obtained a PhD at the University of Leipzig in 2010 and a master degree in Computer Science from Technical University of Dresden in 2006. His research interests involve Semantic Web, machine learning and knowledge representation. He is founder, leader or contributor of several open source projects, including DL-Learner, DBpedia, LinkedGeoData and ORE. He works/worked in several funded projects, e.g. GeoKnow (EU STREP, coordinator), LOD2 (EU IP, work package lead), LATC (EU STREP, lead for University of Leipzig) and SoftWiki (BmBF).
Prof. Witold Abramowicz, InfAI Ombusdman. Witold is a full professor the chair of Department of Information Systems at The Poznan University of Economics, Poland. His particular areas of interest are Information Retrieval and Filtering, Knowledge Management in MIS. He received his M.Sc. from The Technical University of Poznan, Poland, Ph.D. from The Wroclaw Technical University, Poland, and habilitation from The Humboldt University Berlin, Germany. Currently Professor Abramowicz is and was involved in nine research projects in the 6th and the 7th Framework Program EU and many national founded projects. He is vice president of the Polish Association of Management Information Systems.
Julia Holze, Secretary and Treasurer. Julia works side by side with Sandra Praetor as a communications manager for the DBpedia Association in Leipzig. She helped organize the recent events DBpedia Community Meeting (The Hague, Leipzig, Galway and Amsterdam) and SEMANTiCS 2016. Before starting at the AKSW group in Leipzig she studied Media & Communications at the University of Leipzig and worked as a student assistant for the University Computing Center.
